We're excited to announce that we'll be holding our first woodland Family Fun day of 2021 at Frylands Wood Scout Centre this year!
Suitable for all children (and their parents) aged 2 - 16
Join us for a woodland celebration of the Greening of Spring this Beltaine to welcome in longer days, better weather and the joyful explosion of nature!
There will be staggered start times for family bubbles of up to 6 people (including children) starting from 10am, and you will be following a planned route around 5 lovely, Springy activities. There will be space for you to stay on afterwards to play and enjoy the woodland.
You will create wonderful Earth Friendly woodland crafts, take part in some fun challenges, and hunt the magical Jack in the Green to welcome in the May in the traditional secret way!
Everything will be outdoors but under shelter, and you can take away that spring 'nip' by warming yourself by our crackling camp fires and with a hot drink and cake at our Bluebell Cafe. You can pre-book and pay for your refreshments before you arrive, just let us know b y email and we will tell you how,
There will be time at the end of your tour of the activities to stay and play, so why not bring a picnic?
If the woodlands start to feel 'too busy' at any point then we will be asking folk to head home in the order they arrived, to make sure that everyone gets to feel safe outside together.
Make sure you come dressed up warmly and with a little spring in your step! You can bring a mug if you have ordered hot drinks, or if you prefer, use our disposable, compostable cups.
